The real hoons of the Targa Trophy weren't the drivers, they were the photographers who had to go fast enough to get out in front of the drivers during the rally.

The photographers pulled off this feat by running all over California in a sinister-looking, matte black, wicked fast Mercedes with an open exhaust. This black "hitman" machine would roll up on Targa Trophy competitors and a lens would pop out of the back window like a sniper to get some of the fantastic shots you will see below.
