As you know by now, I'm not really one to heap glowing praise on crossover SUVs. But even I have to admit that when they're done right, they can look as good as any car.
So if Nissan manages to stick as closely as they can to the Resonance concept unveiled in Detroit today, I think they'll have a hit on their hands. It looks stunning in person.
The design is very smooth and fluid across the entire car. Some of the styling cues I really like include the 370Z-esque headlamps and tails, the curving rear window, the all-glass roof, a grille that manages not to look like a tacked-on afterthought, and those awesome sparkly gold carbon fiber wheels. Can those stick around the production car? Pleeeeeease?
Nissan says the Resonance concept features a 2.5-liter four cylinder hybrid engine, all-wheel-drive, and (ugh) a "next generation Xtronic CVT." Yeah, this is the next Murano. Let's hope it manages to look this cool.
