The Clash At Demonhead (Metric) -- 'Black Sheep'

Traffic sucks, so why not start your morning off with some music? You provide the toast and we'll provide the jams.

Last week I decided to run a song from "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," to which The Stig's Graphic Designer Cousin replied with this song. A much better choice.

A cover of Metric's deliciously dim "Black Sheep," this version works so well because it's the driving bass and apocalyptic words of Emily Haines covered by the sweet, Teen Pop voice of Brie Larson. Since this is teenage male fantasy, what exactly about the otherwise lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead is more attractive here? I don't buy it. Within the context of the film it doesn't seem like the right choice (the comics are probably different).

Of course, given all the choices in the world I'm still most smitten with Haines herself. Hard to top the original.
