Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.
A few years back I remember watching an episode of Top Gear and frothing at the mouth a bit, because I just saw them seriously compare a Mercedes-Benz E-Class with a Chevy Camaro. It was apples to oranges if I ever saw one, if the apples had legs and the oranges had yogurt. The comparison was so weird that it made no sense at all.
But that's not the first time Top Gear's made weird comparisons. Take this one, for instance, where Jeremy Clarkson starts off with a Bentley Arnage, and ends up comparing it to the Ferrari 456M. I get what he's saying, in that if you want ultimate luxury you should just get a Rolls-Royce, and if you want sporty luxury you should get a Ferrari. But it begs the question – what if you want sporty luxury, and four doors? Because a Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph of the time wasn't the place to get it.
What do you think, though? Is a Bentley vs. Ferrari a fair comparison? Or did the Bentley have no parallel?
