Alright so I guess the 2018 Chevy Traverse RS is a thing, now, too.
Apparently the regular Traverse wasn’t sporty enough, so Chevy is now giving it the RS tune-up, which includes a black grille, black window trim, black roof rails and “black bowtie emblems.” It’s also getting 20-inch wheels.
The RS will also be the first Traverse to have a turbocharged engine, according to Chevy: a direct-injected 2.0-liter four-banger with 257 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque... which doesn’t sound all that powerful? Maybe it’s one of those things you have to drive to feel it out?
Anyway, it will also have a nine-speed automatic transmission and is on sale now, starting at $43,095.
The Traverse RS will join the new Ford Edge ST (despite being way down on power) in the camp of anonymous crossovers that are trying hard for a personality. Good for them.
