Five years after getting forced out of, er, retiring from the company he founded, Steve Saleen announced last year that he was back in the outrageous tuner car game. That's good news for people who like their Mustangs really orange and ridiculously overpowered, like this: the Saleen 351.
Saleen said this week that the 351, announced at the LA Auto Show and previewed at an event in April, is now underway for production. It's probably the company's most insane Mustang to date, packing a 351 cubic-inch/5.75-liter supercharged V8 good for 700 horsepower and 655 pound-feet of torque.
MotorAuthority has a couple more details on the 351. They say the car will pack a standard six-speed manual, a custom suspension, 20-inch wheels, a 3.73:1 final drive ration and be available as a coupe or convertible. All that for $82,634.
Say, that's really not bad at all for a car with 700 horsepower. Anyone else glad Steve Saleen is back?
