The Mazda2 has made a splash on every continent it's sold in, and guess what? Now it's making a splash stateside!

The Mazda2 is the smallest Mazda you can buy, and it's also one of the lightest cars out there, at just 2,300 pounds. It apparently also has an "athletic appearance." I'm not quite sure what sport it's playing.

It isn't necessarily powerful, but the 100 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque do get it moving... especially around Montreal. As far as I know, Montreal is nowhere near MotorWeek's regular Maryland proving grounds. Hope John Davis isn't lost!

In all seriousness, the Mazda2 is an excellent and fun little car. Our own review is coming very soon.
