In the early 1990s, Lincoln was facing huge competition from the new kids on the block, the Japanese.
But the historically conservative Lincoln went a little wild in 1993 with the Mark VIII, a car that was it's most radically styled and was meant to connect with the Palm Beach set... whatever that means.
But under the hood, Lincoln is seemingly catering to the race car set. The 4.6 liter V8 has 280 horsepower and 285 pound feet of torque. That is all run through a brand new four speed automatic transmission.
Whoa nelly!
But enough of my blathering, watch as the Lincoln Mark VIII takes to the scenic roads of Maryland and a suspiciously tight drag strip. Is it elegant enough for you? It better be!
