Anyone who does not see value in the Avalon as a quiet, highway-devouring, 270-hp sedan is missing the intention of the car. It’s not an exciting sportscar, or a boulevard cruiser screaming “LOOK AT ME!” but it is among the best value-conscious vehicles for crossing large swaths of interstate. It checks all of the boxes we don’t care about in tests, but having recently driven the new Maxima, I still feel that the current Avalon Touring is a bargain.
