That Aston Martin Rapide Wagon May Go Into Production

We absolutely love anything with a rear hatch, but we especially love anything that adds a big engine up front to match it. Aston Martin teased and titillated with its Aston Martin Rapide Bertone Jet 2+2, but unfortunately just one was made. Now, though, it may be going into production.

When we first heard about it, we were told that it was a one-off commission for a collector, similar to the original Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2 concept that debuted in 2004. It was beautiful, it was gorgeous, it was practical, and there could only ever be one, like Audrey Hepburn or the Sydney Opera House.

We wished against wish and hoped against hope, though, for that big V12 to be mated to a big boot, and Aston Martin appears to have heard our pleas, according to Autocar. While the info is far from definite and the plan still needs to surmount legal and nomenclature hurdles, it would be the ultimate vacation get-away car.

If you could have one of these, what would it look like and what would you throw in the back?

Travis may kill me for this, but I'd stick wood panelling on mine. Because wagon.
