Ratan Tata, head of India's Tata Motors, says the company is working toward creating a new "people's car," in the realm of the VW Beetle and Fiat 500. The difference is, he says, this one will be even more accessable to the country's poor, coming to market at 100,000 rupees, or $2000. The cars will be a lesson in Minimalism, with stamped-out bodies slapped on a tubular frame in small, local factories. If the project works, it's a Nobel Prize waiting to be awarded.
