It's hard to comprehend, but George Poteet and Ron Main's Speed Demon streamliner ran at this year's Bonneville Speed Week with an amazing exit speed of 462.345 MPH.
Although that speed would have been fast enough to break the piston engine wheel driven land speed record, the team was unfortunately unable to make a return run close enough to make the record official. It might not be official but it's still incredibly impressive and several times faster than most of us will ever travel on four wheels.
