Daniel Bodin, a freestyle snowmobile racer from Sweden, went to St. Petersburg, Russia, last month to take a spin on the Neva River. It's cold in Russia, but not cold enough to freeze a river in August.
Bodin and crew practiced their stunt on a nearby lake a few days before the run and discovered the secrets to running a snowmobile across water: Don't. Slow. Down. Also, don't really try to turn much, or it's tuttar över rumpa as well. Thanks to the two-stroke engine in his Polaris, the unplanned submarine maneuver in practice caused no permanent damage.
