Swapping a light weight and powerful motorcycle engine with a ten thousand rpm redline into a light weight rear-wheel drive hatchback is clearly a fine idea. It took Kiwi Tony McConachy to make it happen. The Starlet kicks out about 180 hp and evidently employs the stock Hayabusa six-speed trans coupled with a Quaife reverse box for both forward and reverse gearing entertainment.
