Shooting it out on the Nürburgring with a rival BMW X3 is how the Mercedes GLK will prove its mettle in the mini-luxe SUV game. Analysts say it's one of the fastest growing segments, globally, and we're in for others from Audi (Q5) and Lexus. The Merc is based on the W204 C-Class, and will take its design cues from big brother GL. No word on launch date, but expect Detroit or Geneva 2008, ahead of Scarsdale '09.
