Edmunds Inside Line says the (sort of) confirmed Chevrolet HHR SS will get GM's new, 2.0-liter, turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine, which makes 260 hp in the Pontiac Solstice GXP. That's one of the engine options speculators have been kicking around; the other being the 173-hp 2.4-liter four in the Cobalt SS. N rburgring-tuned suspension tweaks are expected to give the wafty wagon a tauter feel, as will revisions to the power steering kit. A front air dam will also denote the SS from its pedestrian siblings, though hopefully a scary amount of torque steer will not.
