According to the UK's CAR, BMW's next 7-Series — expected in mid to late 2008 — will be sleeker, more coupe-like and more compactly comported — a departure from the current model's Bangleized pulchritude. Underneath, there's BMW's new, modular architecture, with which it will mix and match parts to create the 5-Series, 6-Series and new, lower-priced Rolls-Royce sedan line. There will also be a hybrid model, sporting the gas-electric powerplant BMW's been developing with odd bedfellows DaimlerChrysler and GM, along with diesels and a range of next-gen direct-injection gas engines. Considerably more prelims await those who click through.
