Spy Photos: New Land Rover Freelander

The first time we drove (test drove, that is) a current-generation Land Rover Freelander, we got a strange feeling of lockjaw. It felt sturdy, but plodding, as if we were fording an aquaduct full of demi glace. Its driving responses ran opposite to its size, which gave us little reason to risk a half-decade's worth of trips to the service department. But as the Freelander represented wasted opportunity, the company seems determined to correct its ills — pledging to pay heed to customer feedback when designing the new version. Thanks to AutoSpies, we're getting our first glimpse of it, courtesy of photog Brenda Priddy.
