A 54-year-old Indianapolis man nabbed in Maui for speeding and reckless driving told police he'd gotten a "message from God to speed." Cops didn't buy it, and when he resisted arrest, they tazed him. C'mon. That's not what "godspeed" means.

Police say the guy had been spotted racing up and down South Kihei Road, where the speed limit is 30, in a Lexus he'd just bought, at speeds of up to 80 mph, passing other cars on the right and nearly hitting a pickup truck and several joggers.

When asked why he was speeding, the mans said he was "trying to reset the future, but he was not able to go fast enough to do that" and that he didn't stop because "he does not respect authority and he only answers to God," who "could destroy them in the blink of an eye."
