Are Trucks Cars?

You’re driving down the highway in your truck. You see that the highway divides into ‘cars only’ and ‘cars + trucks.’ This is just one moment in the linguist trouble of the car/truck dichotomy.

Naturally, you, in your normal pickup, are allowed in the ‘cars only’ section. The highway is concerned with big truck trucks like 18 wheelers.

But do you think of your truck as a big thing in the car category? Or do you think of it as a little thing in the truck category? Do some trucks blend from one to the other?
