It happened nearly a week ago, but it just hit the wire services today that R&B singer D'Angelo, known as much for his GI Joe anatomics as for his soul ballads, was critically injured in a car accident in Virginia. The accident occurred on Sept. 19, when D'Angelo (nee Michael Eugene Archer) was ejected from a Hummer H2 that went out of control, crossing a roadway and striking a fence. Police didn't know whether Archer, or another person injured in the wreck, was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Aside from the hospital confirming Archer was admitted in critical condition, no information was available. [Thanks to Clare for the tip.]
