Before anyone ever met the nicest people on a Honda, motorcycles weren't generally considered a woman's domain. But over six decades ago, in the age of kick-started Flatheads, some brave women spearheaded by one Dot Robinson founded the Motor Maids. Known to terrorize hotels by bursting into song and re-enacting Mel Tillis and Terry Bradshaw's famed Cannonball Run swimming pool jump (sans stock car), mothers, daughters and granddaughters all ride side by side, raising hell on 30 mph Time-Speed-Distance rallies. The DC Metro area bears the brunt of their wrath this week, as they celebrate their 65th anniversary. [Thanks to CTE for the tip.]
