A new fingerprint scanning system is designed to make sure kids don't get let off at the wrong stop. Seems like a good idea. Privacy advocates, well, they're not so sure yet.
You hear the stories every year. Little Jane or Jimmy gets let off the bus miles from home and wanders around for hours. A new fingerprint scanning system under test would have children check on and off the bus with a fingerprint. The system would sound an alarm if a child were to get off the bus at the wrong stop.
Privacy advocates worry (don't they always?), that fingerprints could fall into the wrong hands.
