According to the IIHS, the Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra, Kia Optima, Suzuki Forenza, Mazda6 and Toyota Corolla are the six most unsafe cars for sale in the US for 2006. Forbes published the list using the IIHS's ratings rather than the NHTSA's, as the NHTSA are apparently a bunch of namby-pamby pansies who rarely give any car a below-three-star rating. Then again, who're you gonna trust? The insurance industry or your government? It's rather akin to the hoary old, "Would you rather eat a bowl of cold chili made from the phlegm of a leper or suffer fifteen thousand papercuts?" conundrum.
