While Bentley's been busy crawling out from the shadow of its estranged brother and massively into the limelight with the Continental GT and its variants, Rolls, after the 2003 debut of its Phantom, has been biding its time. Now, new plans burst forth: in 2007, Rolls will launch a convertible version of the Phantom, while a stretch version of the car will bow later this year. BMW's ber-lux brand is also studying the possibility of a smaller car, due to the success of the 200 MPH W-12-powered Bentley. The company also notes that for the forseeable future, their Good plant will be able to sustain demand, without having to look to their corporate parent's German facilities, which seems a subtle dig at Bentley's plans to build some future models at the factory originally designed to manufacture the unloved VW Phaeton. Ah, those catty Kraut-Brits.
