Canadian builder of other peoples' cars and related gewgaws, Magna International, is reportedly talking with BMW AG about a new Mini SUV model, according to Automotive News and Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper. Sources say the bugger even has a name, Mini Colorado, which has nothing at all to do with that section of Los Angeles with all the "Mork from Ork" impersonators. Around 65,000 of the buggers would be assembled annually at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria, which is still smarting from losing the BMW X3 assembly account to the company's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant in South Carolina. The sources are unnamed and a BMW spokeswoman issued a luxurious no comment fit for a Freifrau. [see also CNN]
