Driver Giancarlo Fisichella, who had been smoking the field in Renault s newly redsigned R25 car during practice and qualyfing runs, outgunned the pack to win the Australian Grand Prix, yesterday. Rubens Barrichello, of team Ferrari — whose sheer dominance last season was like watching the Harlem Globetrotters toy with a pick-up squad of retired insurance agents — came in second. Ferrari superstar, Michael Schumacher, who hung around 12th for most of the race, was out in the 42rd lap after a swipe with Williams-BMW driver, Nick Heidfeld. An F1 season where we don t know who wins before the races? Brilliant.
