Recently, in an e-mail to the Webmaster of Modern Racer's Web site, an angry reader accused the magazine of racism for implying in an article that Volkswagens made in Mexico were not of the same quality of those built in Germany. The reader also urged Volkswagen to sue the magazine for defamation. As readers of Modern Racer, we consider ourselves overtly Race-ist, in the best sense, and must respond to such groundless, knee-jerk accusations with a resounding Bronx cheer. Ok, we really just wanted to use that Race-ist joke.
