If you haven’t heard about raw-dogging a flight, consider yourself lucky. Unfortunately for you, that’s exactly what this post is about, so either turn back now or buckle up. Basically, instead of listening to music, reading a book or watching a movie on a flight, some flyers are choosing to skip all that in favor of simply watching the flight map until they land. More extreme raw-doggers also forgo snacks, drinks and going to the bathroom. As the BBC reports, doctors say that could also kill you: - Collin Woodard Read More

An American Airlines plane prepares to land at the Miami International Airport on May 02, 2023 in Miami, Florida.

The airline-riding public wants to see unruly passengers banned from flying, but what happens when the wrong person is kept off a plane? Erin Wright took to TikTok last week to discuss how American Airlines kept her off a June flight from New Mexico to New Orleans. The carrier told her that she was on the carrier’s no-fly list for having sexual relations with a man while intoxicated on a flight. Wright was adamant that American had made a mistake. Why? She stated, “I’m a 24-year-old lesbian.” - Ryan Erik King Read More

A photo of the exterior of the trailer with all the awnings and deck deployed

Saying that a $110,000 travel trailer is bigger and nicer than my 500-square-foot studio apartment isn’t that much of a feat if I’m honest, but all you need to know is that this trailer looks miles nicer than any RV or camper I’ve ever seen. Hell, the deck alone seems nicer than my apartment. This, ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between, is the Wildwood & Salem 42Veranda travel trailer by Forest River. This behemoth is not meant to be regularly towed around, though. It’s actually meant to be towed to a destination and parked there for long-term mobile home living. - Logan Carter Read More

Is hacking your rivals gears the newest doping saga in cycling?
Photo: Dario Belingheri (Getty Images)

Cycling is a phenomenal sport that pits the very best athletes against one another in some of the toughest races you can imagine. Predictably, it also has a pretty dark past that’s seen it tackle drug cheating scandals, allegations of motor-doping from some riders and now experts have warned that there may be a new way to cheat your way to a race win: hacking your rival’s fancy electronic gears. - Owen Bellwood Read More

No liquids here officer.

There are a few essential rules to remember when flying: buy your snacks before getting to the airport, always book a window seat and remember to pack your toiletries in 3.4 ounce bottles. Despite that last one being law for almost 20 years, people still forget and the Transportation Security Administration confiscates millions of dollars worth of liquids every day. Now, one U.S. airport is looking to save confiscated liquids from the trash heap. - Owen Bellwood Read More

Fire departments get people killed not just bikes
Screenshot: Not Just Bikes/YouTube

While cops have done a fantastic job of burning any goodwill they may have had, the same can’t be said about firefighters. They show up, fight fires, save people’s lives and then go back to oiling up their abs for the next calendar shoot or whatever it is they do in their off time. Also, a lot of fire departments have cute dogs that aren’t trained to snitch on you for a little weed. And yet, as the latest video from Not Just Bikes points out, fire departments’ policies also get people killed. - Collin Woodard Read More

Delta plane on the tarmac at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport
Photo: Brandon Bell / Staff (Getty Images)

Regular readers may be tired of me pointing this out, but for those of you who are new here, I don’t live in New York or Los Angeles. I live in Atlanta. Like, Atlanta Atlanta, not Cumming or Alpharetta. I can literally see the Bank of America building from where I’m sitting right now. I also grew up in Georgia, which means I’ve been flying out of the Atlanta airport for as long as I can remember. Granted, I didn’t do a lot of flying until I was in my 20s, but Hartsfield-Jackson is my airport, and I’m tired of people saying it sucks. - Collin Woodard Read More

Unruly passengers make the frustrating experience of flying even more stressful, but these customers don’t suddenly become rowdy when they step on the plane. A 31-year-old woman became irate at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago after reportedly missing a flight on July 30. Local police noted that the woman fled the scene and is still being sought by authorities. - Ryan Erik King Read More

A Lufthansa A319 passenger plane takes off from Munich Airport during the presentation of the new Allegris premium service on April 25, 2024 near Freising, Germany.

Many frequent fliers might think the current airline travel experience isn’t worth paying for, but they aren’t trying to hop on a plane without buying a ticket. A 39-year-old Norwegian man found a way past security and onto a flight without a ticket at Munich Airport twice earlier this month. The sly stowaway allegedly exploited the German facility’s automated checkpoint gates by walking through closely behind a paying passenger. - Ryan Erik King Read More

A chunk of Mir is probably sitting perfectly preserved on the Pacific Ocean floor
Photo: NASA

The final point of many space missions is an extremely isolated spot in the South Pacific Ocean, where spacecraft are splashed down and never seen again. Much of the focus on the upcoming SpaceX Crew-9 mission has been on a potential delay and whether or not two seats will be left empty for Boeing Starliner’s stranded crew. When SpaceX’s Dragon returns to Earth in 2025, its unoccupied trunk will be jettisoned into this spacecraft cemetery. - Ryan Erik King Read More
