The Glass Nickel Pizza Company in Madision, WI just saved itself a spot o' dosh. Instead of paying 50 bucks a month to dispose of their excess vegetable oil, they simply filter it and use it to fuel their delivery vehicles. After spending $1,500 on the diesels in its fleet (A Rabbit pickup? Yes!), they've been able to use the 240 gallons of excess oil to run the eco-machines 3,000 miles a month. We just knew a restaurant would try this eventually. Still we're a little surprised to see our first reported instance of it in Wisconsin how do they keep the oil from gelling during those frigid winters?
