The Porsche 918 Spyder is a big part of the hypercar barrage that is coming our way over the next 12 months. And Porsche has decided that buying the 918 is the equivalent of finding a golden amulet, one that makes you better than the rest. That's why Porsche has created the 918 Spyder VIP program.
After you pay Porsche $800,000 plus for your brand new ultra hyper exclusive sports car, you'll automatically be enrolled in the VIP program.
So what exactly do you get as a 918 VIP?
Well, Porsche kindly gives you the opportunity to spend even more money with them before other people can. If you have a 918, Porsche will give you, Mr. 918 owner, the first right of refusal on limited production cars (less than 500) entering the USA.
Let's say there's a 911 GT3 RS 4.0 that Porsche is going to bring to the USA. You have a 918 and you want it. Well, you sir, have the first chance to say no thanks.
VIPs also have priority on ordering a regular production car. There is a catch though. Let's say you want a Cayenne S and a Cayenne GTS. Welp, you can't. VIP privileges are limited to one car per model line per year.
The program lasts a maximum of 10 years from the purchase of the car. If you own the car for six months or less, program benefits end the day the car is sold. If you own it for more than six months and less than 36, you get three more years of the program. But if you own it for more than 36 months, well, you sir get the full magilla, 10 years of being a VIP. Benefits are not transferrable to a new owner.
