Ok, people, we've found a new Internet connection that doesn't rely on the silky underbelly fluff of a particular breed of calf from the Marshall Islands to insulate its barely operational cabling. Now that we're back, we can appropriately address the news at hand: While we were yammering on about the possibilities of Porsche's Boxster Coupe, the company announced today it will introduce a new mid-engined sports car positioned between the Boxster and the 911 Carrera. Whoops!
Dubbed the Cayman — referring to a member of the crocodile family, not to the Caribbean tax haven where many prospective Porsche Cayman buyers stash their cash — will be based on the Boxster, but tweaked out with a nearly 300-hp, 3.4-liter, six under the hatch. Insiders are estimating it'll cost in the neighborhood of $60,000. And that's no croc.
