One of Auto Spies's covert agents in Germany claims Porsche's new Boxster Coupe will be a $65,000 toy for track days, not a cheaper version of the 911. The spy, going by the name Dr. Kananga, says "People in Stuttgart have told me that the Boxster Coupe will not be a cheap way into 911 circles, as people had hoped, and that the 2.7-litre motor will not appear at all." The reason? "Porsche learned from the 3.2 Boxster Convertible that buyers would not purchase 911 Cabriolets in the light of cheaper options," he says. Talk among yourselves.
