Nighttime burnouts have been known to disappoint photographers. All the smokey goodness generally requires daylight to be properly appreciated. Unless, of course, you're watching through an infrared camera.
This rascally Australian pickup truck (or "ute" to use their vernacular) was tracked and recorded by a Queensland police helicopter as part of increased "anti-hooning" law enforcement efforts.
While the driver may have thought he'd escape prying eyes under the cover of darkness, the heat from the tires and engine make the truck hard to miss — and pretty damn fun to watch.
