I've been in Las Vegas the past couple of days and while idling away in the parking lot of the Venetian hotel, I noticed one of these decals on the back of a Subaru Tribeca. Frankly, I had no idea what it was for — I thought maybe it was for some kind of hook-and-bullet group or something.
Nope, I was wrong.
It was for this movie based on a book called the "Hunger Games." I don't have the slightest idea why someone would put that on their car, but apparently it's becoming the new hot "must have" item for the kiddies obsessed with alternate hunting realities. Seriously. There's like a dozen shops that have popped up this past weekend touting gold and black versions of what looks like a bird being shot in the tail feather by an arrow (you can tell I've never read the book).
Whatever. All I have to say is don't buy them. I don't care how cool the book was, you're going to look just as silly as those kids who put "Deathly Hallows" triangles on their cars.
Seriously, you should never have to Google what a bumper sticker means. It defeats the purpose.
Plus the cheap bumper stickers are really hard to get off.
Anyway, this is all just a roundabout way of saying that you should, instead of buying these things — turns out it's called the "Mocking Jay" — wait a week or two. Why? Because we'll have some high quality Jalopnik bumper stickers ready to sell very soon.
Yes friends, Stickerlopnik is coming.
