Just now, our supercar Spidey sense went berserk, which somehow led us right to PistonHeads. Once there, we were informed that Picchio, an Italian supercar builder and racing technology firm, is nearing completion of its Daytona prototype, which will likely be ready by late 2005. If you're tracking the car's progress (and, lets face it, why would you be?), Picchio offers updates on the project, which was launched in 2002. The company has reportedly improved the chassis over Can Am regulations, and given the car the kind of driver-friendly ergonomics a Toyota Camry would blow a rod for. Still, the company has yet to settle on an engine. Look for more updates in that regard.
