Peekaboo BMW, We See You!

To the untrained eye this is nothing but 10% of a car. To the petrolhead eye, however, it’s a glint of power bulge beneath which lurks something magnificent.

Of course you have to be a complete M3 geek to catch all that. The aggressive yet discreet front fascia, the pattern of the wheels, the cross-drilled brake disks. And the hood—invisible if not for the pitlane access door’s reflection. It’s a BMW E46 M3, it’s got an S54B32 under that domed hood, and when it hits the track—like this particular one hit the Hungaroring on this year’s last track day—the hills will echo.
