Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is wet and cold this weekend, but that’s not stopping the World Endurance Championship from racing. Here’s one of Patrick Dempsey’s laps in the Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR, complete with cars kicking up blindingly huge crazy rooster tails of spray.
At one point in the video, the camera switches angles back at the wide hips of the 911 RSR itself, showing that car’s own big, ridiculous rooster tail.
If you thought Dempsey was done with rain after leaving the Seattle-set Grey’s Anatomy TV show, HA! Ha ha. Nope. If anything, having more time to spend on racing means “oooooh, rain day” and seizing every chance you can get to practice in the wet.
Despite the moist conditions, the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will go on. Many of the Le Mans-only cars will make their debut this weekend, such as Porsche’s third 919, so it should be a fun race to watch—perhaps even more so if it’s still soaking wet the whole time! Wet endurance races like this with all different kinds of cars can be total awesome chaos.
You can catch the 6 Hours of Spa on Fox Sports 1 starting at 8:30 AM this Saturday. Fox Sports 2 takes over the broadcast at 11:00 AM, and then it switches back to Fox Sports 1 for the final hour and a half at 1:00 PM. That’s right: all six hours are on TV. No finagling a series of tubes for a clear stream necessary.
