Own the street with the 1988 Chevrolet S-10

If you need proof Chevy truck commercials in the 80s were about more than abusing your truck and doing manly things look no further than this one.

Of course instead of advertising their full size trucks, this commercial features the more compact S-10 model.

It may not have been the most useful vehicle on the jobsite, but equipped with a 4.3 liter V6 the S-10 had the ability to own the street—whatever that means.

My dad has a 2.8 5M S-10 that's hard to drive in the rain. I've driven it in the snow before, joylessly, over 100 miles. I once drove a friends 5m 4.3 S-10 in the rain, and it was barely mobile. I don't know how the V8 guys do it.

"Own the road" obviously means one-wheel burnouts.
