Have you ever started your car, then left it running as you popped back into your house for a quick sec to grab something? Of course you have. We all have. Have you ever done this and then found that some idiot kids got into your car and drove it over a Mustang? No? Then you’re better off than this guy in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Our hapless Floridian (of course) started his Toyota Camry for his morning commute to work, and then realized he left his coffee inside. During the tiny amount of time it took him to get in the house and back out, two 15 year olds and a 16 year old got into the car and drove away.
The trio of teens made it about a block before running over a Mustang, making this the very rare and special case where it was the Mustang that was the victim in a situation that involved idiotic reckless driving and coffee.
The three kids tried to run away after the wreck (I’m picturing a lot of running into one another, Three Stooges-style) before they were caught and charged with Grand Theft Auto, which I suspect on some level they thought seemed pretty cool.
Responsible parents would have provided their idiot kids with whippets or something to keep them safely incapacitated and incapable of doing something as inane as this, right? Clearly more parental training programs are needed.
Were they maybe trying to get the car on two wheels? I sort of hope so.
