One Million Dollars in Cars: Reader Responses, Day Six

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

This million-dollar list may be a conservative play, but it has a few unorthodox choices — like the Bizzarrini 5300GT and Subaru SVX (a dark horse, which, like Nipsey Russell, had completely dissolved from our cultural consciousness). Excellent choices, Bruce, and you've even got some cash left over for tune-ups and air fresheners.

———
Lamborghini LM002 — What, you don't have Italian V-12 power in your SUV? Then go home. Black would be a good color. [We've always had a thing for these. Figure $100,000 for the poor, depreciating bastard. - ed.]

Jensen Interceptor FF
In silver. Hi tech before the phrase was invented. [True dat. The first all wheel drive car with ABS (self-adjusting) brakes and traction control, in 1967! And not a bank-breaker, at under $50,000 for a perfect specimen - ed.]

Subaru SVX
In dark green. Subaru's homage to the Jensen Interceptor. [Our guess is around $10,000-$15,000 for mint condition (if you can find one) - ed.]

Lotus Europa
In yellow. A car that made the XKE look old. Gotta have a Lotus in my collection. [Make it the TC model. At $20,000, you have plenty of wiggle room financially, if not in the Europa's low-slung cockpit - ed.

Ford Falcon Sprint
Dark blue would be good. Before there were Mustangs... [Say $15,000, what the hell. - ed]

1969 Ford Torino Talledega
The Plymouth Super Bird is just too flashy for me. [In this sico market, figure 40 large. - ed]

Chevrolet Impala SS 1994-96
A big black car for late evening drives in wide open western states. [Figure $20,000, you're way under budget so far. - ed.]

1959 Cadillac
A 2-door, in black please. A car that would please Elvis, Batman and
Dwight Eisenhower. [They'd make one hell of a poker game. $100,000 - ed.]

Bizzarrini 5300 GT
Red. Mid 60's Italian style, Chevy V-8 Power, and when people ask you what you are driving, you get to say... [Oofa - $200,000 — ed.]

Lamborghini Countach 5000S
In white. The ultimate Star Wars car. I don't really want to drive
this, just to have it parked in front of the places I go. [Ok, Billy Idol — $70,000.

Toyota Prius
Because I live in Berkeley.

[Total is around $604,000. Hmm, $400,000? We're thinking a go-kart track, but that's just us - ed.]
