One IndyCar Caught Fire Before The Race Even Started

Unfortunately for Conor Daly, his number 43 Smithfield-sponsored “Fueled by Bacon” car was overly crispy before the race even started. Conor’s Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team said that the car’s exhaust system got hot and caused the fire.

Them’s tough hogs.

Daly was one supposed to be of the promising young talents in this race, however, the fire wasn’t repairable in time for him to make the start. Fortunately, he made it back into the pits unharmed.

We can only hope that he thought ahead to cook bacon on his car’s engine, and is now at least enjoying some flash-cooked bacon from the car-b-que.
