Hmm. That’s not gone well, has it now?

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg suffered a pretty spectacular rear tire blowout on a high-speed run up to the Blanchimont corner during the second practice round of the Belgian Grand Prix today. Luckily, Rosberg didn’t hit anyone, nor did anyone hit him.

You can see the full video over at Formula One’s official site, complete with some very fretting announcer commentary.

Here’s the onboard, which is fairly terrifying.

Via Sky Sports:

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ after returning to the paddock, Rosberg admitted: “It was quite a shock as I just didn’t expect it then suddenly at 360kph or 190 mph I just lost control. Not good.

“It is a bit of a dent in the confidence.”

Rosberg still ended at the top of the time sheets, with teammate Lewis Hamilton right behind him. We’ll see what Pirelli has to say about the blowout too.
