Oldsmobile lost market share in 1957 because it's design was considered to be dated in comparison with the new "Forwardlook" Chryslers, specifically Desoto (the company's direct competition). 54 years later, one look at this weathered Olds is enough for most car lovers to understand why GM's "dated" styling from 1957 is still so popular.
