No Superpowers Are Necessary To See Through This Corvette

After years spent doing award winning Corvette restorations, sometimes you have to mix it up. That is exactly what Kevin Mackay of the well known but unoriginally titled Valley Stream, NY restoration shop Corvette Repair Inc. decided to do when he came across this 1969 Corvette L88 sitting at a machine shop.

Although this topless 'Vette features all of the high quality restoration work Corvette Restoration Inc. is known for and is fully functional, it is obviously missing a rather large part of what made the C3 Corvettes famous—the fiberglass body work. Special brackets were made to attach all necessary lights to make the car street legal and this Corvette has actually passed New York State inspection in its current stripped down state.

We imagine the lack of fiberglass body combined with the rebuilt 480 horsepower L88 engine make it a highly entertaining cruiser as well as an ideal way to show off the shop's high quality restoration work. Mackay considers the car done in its current state and plans to submit the car for the NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold and Triple Crown awards that serve as the ultimate form of show car validation in the world of vintage Corvettes.
