The Chinese pay-to-play model for foreign automakers seems to be working out swimmingly for Dongfeng Motor Corp. Their 50/50 joint venture with Nissan has resulted in a 41-million-dollar tech center in the southern city of Guangzhou. Dongfeng Motor Co. Ltd., the joint venture's official name, will used to develop models for the Chinese market, in which the company hopes to double its sales within two years.
