I finished Patty Schemel’s Hit So Hard over the weekend and it revived my preteen angst-love of Nirvana, which had been replaced by my post-teen angst-love of Alice in Chains. In Utero is still one of the best albums of the early 90s.

Man, I love this song. Not to go all John Cusack in High Fidelity, but this is my all time favorite album-opening track. It’s loud, raw, kicks ass, includes some of Kurt’s best sarcastic one-liners, and the rare Cobain guitar solo that does more than just follow the vocal line.
