The major product offensive launched by Audi has paid off at the 2007 World Car of the Year Awards. The redesigned Audi TT took Design of the Year, and the RS4 cleaned up World Performance Car for two globe-shaped trophies to add to the display case back at Audi global HQ. The Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec used a high degree of turbodiesel precision and luxury along with some urea to win in the World Green Car category, and the Lexus LS 460 employed its long wheelbase to roll over some balloons and take the New Jersey World Car of the Year title. The glad-handing award remained undecided.
