The October release date of Microsoft and Turn 10's XBOX 360 racer looms ever closer, reminding us that we'll be spending some quality seat time on our couch this Fall. Check out our ever growing car list HERE to see what other rides you'll be able to pilot, though we think the Audi R8 5.2L V10 is all we'll ever need. [Forza Motorsport]

Just like movies, they always hype the one that needs the help, so their initial 'sales by saturation' can overcome any bad reviews... since no one reads video game news... unless its posted on Jalopnik.

So here we are, ramping up to the release of both (yes GT5 is coming), and M$ is begging you to believe them when they tell you how awesome their racing game is, and as far as racing games on the Xbrick, it is the best there is. The GT5 developers quietly go about their business, until one day they step out the door and blow your mind. They could come out tomorrow and say they're launching one week before Forza. They're in the driver's seat... pun intended. Keep your eye on Tokyo Game Show for them to announce a release date.

Just the inclusion of any one of Nascar, WRC and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, all seen in the E3 trailer, are bigger news than any and all of the cars that we've seen in Forza's trailers. According to GT5's head man, that trailer was a very small glimpse at the whole game. Forza's giving you all the funny scenes in the commercials.
