The particularly heavy backchannel news day for BMW rolls on with a report in Germany's Autobild about the company's next-generation engines in preparation for for the 3 Series and 5 Series, including a novel approach to adding power — maybe you've heard of it: turbocharging. In addition to the new Audi RS4-attacking 425hp V8 set to power the next M3, a range of turbocharged gas-powered mills — designated "tis" or "ti" — will comprise a 275-hp four-cylinder mill to a 375-hp inline six. More powerful diesels are also in the works, including a 200-hp 2-liter and 250- and 300-hp sixes. Eurocar Blog handles translation duties on this one.
